Well, Spring has finally arrived here on Bainbridge Island. We have been enjoying a lot of sunshine and warm days lately. The tulips and daffodils are blooming and it is impossible to sleep in with all of the birds chirping outside. Mir started softball, has been keeping busy at the theatre and is loving her voice lessons. We have been loving the longer days and have even been to the park a few times to enjoy the sun and play tennis.
Here are some pictures of what we have been up to:

Alex is the best dog on the whole planet, we are so lucky that we were able to rescue him and he is such a fun dog to have. We have a kennel for him (behind him in this pic) that we usually leave him in while we are gone, but it is a huge pain to take it back and forth from the garage when there is a showing for the house so we decided for a few days to leave his kennel open and leave his bed out and see how he does (he has a history of eating plants). Well, he is doing great and the kennel is no longer in the house, but the cats are the ones enjoying the bed. I usually come home at lunch and find the two cats sprawled out on his bed while he is huddled on the tiny rug in front of the door. Mir took this picture and I think it says it all!

Filipe & I had our birthdays (29 again!!). On my birthday we picked Miranda up from the airport, and drove around the Peninsula across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge up to Silverdale for lunch. Then we did a little shopping, came home and made popcorn and watched Marley & Me (thanks Lex!!). It was a great day and I was so glad to have Mir back home.

Filipe wasn't so lucky, he had to work but came home to find Rockband all set up with a new track pack, spaghetti and chocolate cake.

Every year at Easter Filipe always tells me about a bread that his mom used to make that had eggs on it. He would explain it to me and I have searched the internet for recipes but I couldn't ever find one and I had a hard time picturing the eggs, were they hard boiled, baked on, peeled, I just couldn't grasp it. Then a little while ago I was at the bakery right next to my office and they were taking their orders for Easter and had the bread!! I was so excited that I ordered one and Mir and I got up early Easter morning and went and picked it up. Filipe was really surprised and the bread was delicious!

The most exciting part of our month happened just today, notice the difference in the pictures?
Yep, Mir finally (after 2 sets and about 5 years!!) is done with her braces - YAY!!! Tonight while she was flossing her teeth, she said she never knew it could be so easy!

Unfortunately, the celebration of the braces coming off was cut short, she had an appt in the afternoon with a foot doctor to get her darn ingrown toenails taken care of once and for all and was hating life afterward. Poor girl, she had to have both sides of both toes done, the doctor told her that usually grown men end up in tears going through what she did and she didn't cry once.
