Our Summer (so far)

This summer has been busy for us. The weather has been great, in the 70's and we tied the record for the longest dry spell in Seattle (29 days!!). We were actually really ready for a nice storm by the time it finally rained. We have been busy taking Mir around the peninsula for softball, she played her first season & loved it. She had a lot of her friends on the team and had a great time.

We have also been playing a little tennis at a park right by our house, it has a huge wooded area that Alex loves to run in & so we are there almost everyday. We are absolutely terrible tennis players and since this particular court isn't completely closed in we spend the majority of our time chasing our bad shots.

Luckily, we have the cutest, fluffiest ball boy in the entire world (Al, not Filipe) and since he is Sara's cousin he loves chasing our tennis balls, no matter where they land.

And, finally, our latest addition - Gina! A few weeks ago we were up in Silverdale (about 30 minutes from our little island) doing some weekend errands....Target, Costco, etc. I left Filipe at the gas pumps at Costco to fill up the Heep, um I mean Jeep, and started shopping inside with Mir. We were just getting back to the bread section when my cell phone rings, it is Filipe and he says the Jeep just died in the line and won't start!! Now, normally the Jeep not starting would be an answer to my prayers, I have been bugging him about a new car for months! But here we are stranded at Costco, the Jeep is not starting and we have no idea what to do. (By the way, those Enterprise commercials where it shows some really nice person dropping off a car to the customers because their car is broken down - not true!!) Anyway, after Filipe tried in vain to get the ole Jeep going again we decided she definitely wasn't getting us home so we called a taxi and tow truck. The Jeep was way too expensive to fix and a few days later, after many consumer report reviews and test drives we found this cute car (aka Gina) that I am completely in love with:

Careful there Mir, I noticed the leg brace and the look of terror in Filipe's eyes when you hyperextended to hit that ball.

Nice new ride yo...very nice.
